We are super excited that Leo will be in the studio next week to talk about his project ‘Blood Line’ as part of our Photomonth events program.

Everyone at the studio is digging what the guys at fiveleveninetynine are doing. There Broken Train project is on my daily ‘to check’ list. Extremely simple, very clever and a fantastic source of inspiration/ideas all in one handy scrolly bar. Great way of feeding ideas and generally getting that brain in gear. Each Monday they are inviting a guest poster to ride in the ’1st Class Carriage’ of there wonderful Broken Train.

Our very own Nick Rochowski has been a very busy boy indeed. We have watched him slog away in the studio over the past few months working on his new book The Liminal Points Project.  The book is looking amazing and will be published by Nick’s publishing company – Rokov. Come along to Studio Private on the 3rd November for the exhibition and book launch of The Liminal Points Project. The exhibition runs until the 8th November.

The 21st Annual Hereford Photography Festival opened today.  Unfortunately I could not make it down as I am in the studio but a fair few Roof Unit members have made the pilgrimage.

Last year our very own Jason Larkin was commisioned by the Hereford Photography Festival to produce a body of work that examines the way in which building use within Herefordshire has altered in response to the changing economy. The work is on show from today and Jason will be talking about the work tomorrow  – Saturday 29th October, make sure you catch it if you’re in the county.

Time-lapse is a technique utilised by many of the residents here at the studio.  Next week, as part of our Photomonth events program we will be hosting a talk by 1day6cities.  Patrick and Daniel will be discussing all things time-lapse including their Commonwealth War Graves commission and exciting new global time-lapse photography project set to take place on 11.11.11

Following this years London Street Photography Festival, entry into the International Street Photography Awards is now open, with an incredible array of prizes up for grabs.
