Andre Penteado

Andre is a photographer from Brazil. He has been living in London for five years.

Andre combines his commercial work with thought-provoking personal projects, shot both in UK and in Brazil, which have been published in magazines such as Source, British Journal of Photography and Time Out. His approach varies from conceptual to documentary depending on the subject he is exploring.  His latest projects deal with the issues of suicide (“Dad’s Suicide” and “I am not Alone”) and aspects of Brazilian society (“Brazilian Maids”).

His work has been exhibited in several shows in London and Brazil and he has a forthcoming show at Photofusion in September 2011.  In his commercial work he specialises in portraits and his striking and empathetic style has enabled him to build up an impressive client base, which includes The Telegraph Magazine, French Connection, The Big Issue, Relentless, Pizza Express, Unilever, Visit England, Coyote Magazine (Japan) and Vogue Interiors (Brazil).
